Malaysian Research & Education Foundation or MyREF (formerly known as Malaysian Reconstruction Foundation), is a professional engineering and technology-based Foundation registered on the 9th of May 2016 under the law of Trustees (Incorporation) Act 1952 (Act 258), governed by the Legal Affairs Division, Prime Minister’s Department. The change of name and expansion of MyREF was agreed and approved in Q3 2020 to focus on research and education development involving engineering & technology, social studies, Islamic development and many more.
Our Objectives
- To develop local and international research, study and education program in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
- To promote human capital development through research and education.
- To increase access to technical and vocational education locally and globally.
Our Mission
With the mission to utilize Research and Education as means to develop sustainable nation and community, MyREF shall work within its scope of expertise to bring about sustainability by promoting research and education development program with collaborations among relevant stakeholders involving government agencies, institutions of higher learnings and corporate sectors.
MyREF also commits in contributing towards achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, a vision laid out by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) that aims to end poverty, promote prosperity and people’s well-being while protecting the environment by 2030. MyREF has a pivotal role to play in supporting Malaysia, then the other countries to make this vision a reality—putting societies on a sustainable development pathway, managing risk and enhancing resilience, and advancing prosperity and well-being through research and education.
